Ogilvie undertook the Design and Construction of a 30 bed palliative care unit comprising a link building and internal alterations and refurbishment to the existing hospice.
The project was constructed on a difficult and restricted site which required extremely sensitive construction methods due to the close proximity of the existing facility. The hospice remained fully operational throughout the project construction.
Part of the project requirements was to landscape the site externally with the use of plants; patio works; trellises; courtyards and maintaining existing trees which provided a comfortable setting for visitors. Internally the finishes were of a high specification with high quality hard wood and easy clean surfaces. The services in the building were to the required hospital standard with installation of special needs sanitary ware and low surface temperature radiators.
The entire project was successfully delivered on programme and within budget. Key to the success of this project was the good working relationship we established with the hospice.
