Ogilvie Construction was awarded the extension and refurbishment of Bridgeton Medical Centre by Greater Glasgow NHS Trust in 2009.
The project comprised a small two storey extension on the front of the existing health centre to form a pharmacy and consulting rooms followed by an extensive multi-phased alteration of the existing rooms to transform consulting rooms into offices and meeting rooms and externally some car park alterations.
The work was completed in very exacting conditions working within an existing “live” health centre with the public and staff in close proximity but safely segregated. Extensive separation, safety, noise and dust precautions had to be instigated in order to comply with the project brief. Site deliveries were phased and on programmed demand generally out of hours suit Health Centre operational requirements.
This project was successfully completed within the contract period of 1 year.
