Excitement is building for the Great Tapestry of Scotland visitor attraction, with the landmark’s facility’s opening date confirmed and new Centre Director announced.
Ogilvie Construction is the main contractor and is adding an extension as part of the overall programme. The main part of the scheme is the construction of the home for the tapestry. This is a two-story steel braced frame, which is roughly a square-shaped building measuring 40m x 40m.
Construction of the roof and external walls is due to follow in the coming months.
The project will be led by internationally experienced director, entrepreneur and expert marketer Sandy Maxwell-Forbes, as Centre Director for The Great Tapestry of Scotland.
