Ogilvie Construction has broken ground on an £18 Million project to build a 4 star boutique hotel in Edinburgh’s West End at Torphichen Street.
The 150 bedroom hotel is being built for Axcel Hospitality and will incorporate a restaurant, bar and leisure facilities. The project is due for completion in early 2020.
The structural frame for the building has been developed as a Precast Concrete and Structural Steelwork hybrid founded on a drilled piling solution. The new hotel will be built to eight storeys with a façade of mostly natural stone.
Donald MacDonald, Managing Director, Ogilvie Construction, said:
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to delivering a high quality building. Our team has an extensive and successful track record in the hotel and leisure sector and will work closely with the client throughout the project to ensure that the hotel meets every need of future guests.”
